Hi, my name is Debbie Josendale and I’d like to welcome you to the SF Bay Area Women’s Journal!

As women today, we lead complicated lives…as moms, wives, partners, daughters, sisters, grandparent, friend, employee, executive, employer, small business owner…to name a few!

The enormous changes that have occurred during the past decades in our income, attitudes, priorities, and purchasing power increase our possibilities, but also increase the complexity of our lives.

Consider This…

At the beginning of the 20^th century, women could not vote.  At the end of the 20^th century, women’s support is recognized as necessary to win an election.

Or how about this…It was not until the mid 1970’s that women could get a loan in their name!   Credit was given in the husband’s name only and loans for women had to be co-signed – by a man. 

We Have Come a Long Way Baby!

Today women influence expenditures of over $5 Trillion annually, personally earn over $1 Trillion, own 46% of all U.S. Small Businesses which generate $2.5 trillion in sales and employ 19.1 million people nationwide.  And women influence over 80% of all consumer purchasing decisions!
