Many of my clients have confessed to me that they do not like their bodies and don’t know how to accept themselves.

So often I hear, “I don’t like looking at myself in the mirror,” “If I could, I would change everything about my appearance,” “I have no self-esteem,”

Today is the Day to Fall in Love with YOU! 

If these statements sound familiar, then today is the day you can put those thoughts behind you and begin to fall in love with you just by doing a few simple tasks. 

1.  First of all, think about what specifically makes you feel negative about yourself and your body. 

Have you ever considered how you’re surroundings affect your sense of well-being? 

2.  Then take an inventory of all the objects that bother you in your home and in your workspace. If possible, get rid of the items you don’t like. (Donate them so you won’t feel guilty!) 

Surround yourself only with items that make you feel good. Better to sit on a beautiful pillow that you really love than on a sofa you hate!  

You may not need to do anything more than to simply rearrange the furniture or decorative accessories or rehang photos and pictures on your walls. 

3.  Upgrade your bathroom by buying candles, humidity loving pot plants and some thick fluffy towels. 

Make your bathroom a pleasant retreat. 

4. Next buy flowers! 

There’s nothing like flowers to lift your spirits and put them everywhere including your workspace. 

5.  Add mirrors everywhere and start to make friends with your mirror. 

Don’t walk away from mirrors. Instead stop and look at yourself and note all your good features and imprint them on your mind. 

Now 

6.  Make a list of ten positives features that you like about your appearance and your character. Place the list on your refrigerator door and on the mirror in your bathroom. 

Every time your critical gremlin appears, read your lists! 

Become a Star! 

7.  Laugh every day. Create something you are proud of. Stop comparing yourself to others and stop dreaming about another life, another body. 

As they say, life is not a dress rehearsal. You cannot hide your body and you have the power to accept it as it is. 

8.  Give yourself the gift of being pampered at a spa. If you can do a whole day, so much the better, but whatever you can afford, do it. Your mind and body will feel instantly restored. 

Develop the habit of taking the same tender loving care of yourself as you do of others.  

Become Active! 

9.  You may not want to put on a bathing suit and jump in the pool yet but there are many other physical activities you can do. Start with something simple like walking. Set small goals for yourself. Or dance or stretch. 

Endorphins released by exercise provide a rush to the brain that enhance one’s sense of well-being, which leads to a better self-image. 

Before you know it, you’ll feel and look better!  And, if it’s important to you, others will notice that too.
