Improve Your Sales with a Heart-Based Approach
Did you know “mind over matter” is one way to approach challenges, but there is a better way? In the past six months, I have undergone a major shift in my approach to business. I must say it works far better and I’ve never been happier!

Ask yourself,
“What is my heart telling me or at the very least – my intuition?”
I recently heard that the mind complicates matters and instills fear that holds us back. However, if you let your heart and intuition move freely, you will accomplish so much more!
This is an absurd concept for most business people. But I have found that when I approach prospects with this new found attitude…my results are stellar.
Words, Actions and Deeds Demonstrate Your Principles
For example, on Twitter, rather than pushing myself on entrepreneurs at large, I offer advice they can use. And, almost every day, I take the leadership position of offering referrals and testimonials without being asked.
If you were to do the same, you would find new audiences attracted to who you are… providing greatly increased possibilities for business. You demonstrate your principles in words, actions and deeds, and become seen as a true professional.
More than ever, I am receiving offers of opportunity, referrals and testimonials due to the heart-based approach to business and I know you will find the same.
Fear Blocks Opportunity
Having this same discussion with employees of a company coupled with my suggestion they give social media a try ( in particular Twitter and Facebook)… the quiet people in the room were suddenly vocal and quite loud. Their negativity took me by surprise.
Age was not the issue. Young and old expressed fear based concerns. The fear was based upon potentially negative people online; spies looking for inside information about the company; and the thought it’s for everyone else but not for them.
The question was posed to them,
“How do you know whether something will or will not work unless you try? Additionally, if there is a potential for social media to work in your favor, isn’t it better to be in the forefront than trying to play catch-up?”
Five years ago most people did not shop online, but now they do. It will work to your favor to adapt a positive mindset toward new ideas and implement early.
Being in business whether employed or an entrepreneur, requires that you take calculated risk. The worst fears stated above did not pose, in my opinion, enough risk to say “no” to the idea of testing the medium.
Let Go of the Fear and Communicate From the Heart!
You have to be willing to try new ventures to see which strategy will benefit your business the most. If they were to take a deeper look, they would recognize social media is marketing at its best – you have the ability to communicate worldwide or narrow the field – all at no cost.
Letting go of the fear and communicating from your heart will greatly enhance your business development. This is precisely how you attract attention from prospects, clients and new audiences. This is the definition of a Smooth Sale!
